JOIN US ON A HUNGER MISSION

You can help!
Food insecurity has grown significantly since we began our Hunger Mission in 2012. The rising cost of food affects senior citizens on a fixed income, veterans, our working poor, and those that have hardships, ie. illness, loss of a job or divorce. Some benefit temporarily while others rely on the food pantries and the Elks Weekend Backpack Food Program to make ends meet.
Bring canned or boxed food (no glass please) October 10th during Packet Pick-up at The Timbers or the night of the event in the registration area at Route 66 State Park.
Suggested food items include:
canned fruit, vegetables, beans, soup, stew, pasta, rice, mac & cheese, crackers, peanut butter, jelly/jam, hot & cold cereals, granola bars, baby food & formula.

It’s about a child not having breakfast before school and then wondering if there will be dinner before bedtime.
It’s about a veteran that fought for our freedom but now fights hunger every week.
It’s about a senior citizen that worked for years to feed themselves but now worries about having a nutritious daily meal.
It’s about you learning that 1 in 6 households struggle with food insecurity.
It’s about time that we gather to give to give them peace of mind.

It’s about generosity from one to another.
The Harvest Moon Run makes our Hunger Mission possible for thousands of individuals every year through incredible organizations like these.
