Become A Moonie!
Moonies will run or walk the 5k through Historic Route 66 State Park on a paved surface. New this year is the free Moon Dude Dash for kids 4 and under and the Moonie Mile for kids 5-10 yr.
5k Participants will receive a long sleeve t-shirt and a headlamp for registering. Please register by 10 PM on September 30th to guarantee your t-shirt.
Donate Packaged Food
Participants are encouraged to bring food donations (no glass containers please) on race night.
You may pick up your race packet at Ben Franklin Crafts, located in 101 Hilltop Village Center Drive on Friday, October 2nd from 2:00-7:00 PM, or on race day beginning at 5:00 PM at Route 66 State Park.
Check-in for the race is located in Route 66 State Park by the main parking area next to the playground. Check-in will begin at 5:00 PM. All cars should park in Route 66 State Park or on the outer road leading up to the park.
The Eureka-Pacific Elks Lodge will be offering a $5 Grill Deal which includes a hamburger or hot dog, chips & soda or water. Proceeds from food sales will be donated to the Elks Weekend Backpack Food Program!
Remember this is a night run, we encourage you to wear reflective clothing.
All cars will park in Route 66 State Park. Please allow enough time to check-in and park before the race.
The Start - Moon Dude Dash & Moonie Mile
All kid's run participants should be in the start area by 6:15 PM. The Moon Dude Dash will begin at 6:30 p.m. sharp. We will have three race groups including the Moon Dude Dash which is a shorter distance reserved for kids 4 and under, and two groups of the Moonie Mile for kids 5-7yr. and 8-10yr. 1st place Moonie Medals will be given for the boys and girls who finish 1st in their group. All other Moonies will receive a fun participation prize. Please attach your Bib securely to the FRONT of your shirt. This event is not chip timed, however, registration is required to participate.
The Start - 5K Run & Walk
All runners and walkers should be in the start area by 6:40 PM. Please attach your Bib securely to the FRONT of your shirt.
The 5K Course
The course is clearly marked with traffic cones, chalked arrows, and course pathlighters. There will be lights strategically located along the course for safety. A water station will be set up on the course for your convenience.
Race Time clocks will be placed adjacent to the finish line and will display your unofficial Gun Time. Your actual time is automatically recorded with the chip on your bib as you cross the line.
Harvest Moon Medals will be awarded to the overall female and male times and to the top finishers in each age class as soon as the group results are confirmed. Click here to see official age groups.
